Rising dramatically from the heart of Innerdalen, often called Norway’s most beautiful valley, Innerdalstårnet is a perfect granite pyramid reflected in crystal lakes, framed by waterfalls and the surrounding peaks of Trollheimen. Innerdalstårnet steep slopes and sharp summit ridge make it one of Norway’s most photographed and most sought-after climbs.

Summit Day
Start: From your lodging in Innerdalen or meeting point in Nerdalne. The hike from Nerdalenn to Innerdalen is short, but steep. A mountain bike or e-bike can be an option for the first 4 km. Reache Innerdalen valley, a UNESCO-nominated landscape of green meadows, cascading waterfalls, and glacial lakes.
Valley section: A gentle start that leads to a path overmarshes and up the hillside from Renndølsetra to Lake Storvatnet (approx. 1 hour).
Mid-section climb: Steeper trail leading to Tårnskar saddle — a good rest point with stunning views back down the valley.
Final ascent: From Tårnskar, the terrain turns into exposed scrambling over loose rock (of climbing if you choose a climbing route). Your guide will advise on helmet use (strongly recommended) and set up rope protection if needed.
Descent: Carefully retrace your steps to Tårnskar col and then descend to Innerdalen. Expect to return late afternoon to early evening.

Normal Route (Southwest Ridge)
- Grade: Easy scrambling (Norwegian grade 2; no technical climbing)
- Hazards: Loose rock, high exposure, slippery when wet
- Time on route: 4–5 hours up, 3–4 hours down
- Equptment: helmet necessary, can be provided by your guide, sturdy shoes, backpack, clothes, food and water for the day
- Group size: Max 6 hikers pr guide

Northwest Ridge
- Grade: technical climbing, Norwegian grade 3-4
- Hazards: Loose rock, high exposure, slippery when wet
- Time on route: 5-6 hours up, 3–4 hours dow
- Equitment: helmet, harness and climbing shoes necessary, as well as hiking shoes, backpack, clothes, food and water for the day
- Group size: Max 2 climbers per guide
