Mini rafting half-day trip
A ducky is an inflatable two-person kayak. You paddle your own ducky under the supervision of a guide. The small boats make the trip exciting regardless of the river level and you will find this more demanding than a normal raft. The route is varied, making it suitable for experienced rafters and novices wishing to learn something new, challenging and fun. Excitement and feeling of mastery guaranteed!
During this trip, you paddle your own boat down the river Driva for approx. 7 km. Before we set off, experienced guides will give a safety briefing about how to handle the boat and navigate down the river. You get a close-up experience of the river and the many rapids: Vengavoll Canyon, Purple Monster, S Bend, Bridge Rock, Gyda’s Rock, Flip Hole and finally Anna’s Rapids. The rapids are named after stories and characters from rafting trips. You will even have a chance to try cliff jumping during this trip.
Trips down the river in duckies are especially suitable at low river levels, which is usually from late July to late September.
Practical information:
This trip is graded 3 out of 6 on the international scale of river difficulty.
Minimum age requirement: age 15. This trip is only available with lower river levels.
Suitable for:
This trip is considered more demanding than the half-day rafting trip and is best suited for people who are not afraid of water. Participants will get wet and must expect a swim or two in the river. The river feels much bigger and faster when you are in ones of these small boats rather than a normal raft. Since you will paddle yourself, we recommend previous rafting or paddling experience, but this is not a requirement.
What to bring:
Bring a garment to wear under your wetsuit. This must not be cotton. We recommend woollen or synthetic long underwear, swimwear or training clothes. Wear woollen socks and jogging shoes on your feet. Remember to bring a towel and a bag for your wet clothes.
What equipment is included?
Use of wetsuit, flotation vest, helmet and rafting equipment.
Duration:
3 hours
